Hi, I’m Jeff!
I am a motivational career coach and job search strategist.
I assist those who are seeking to gain career confidence and life skills you need to succeed wherever you are on your journey!
“I find the most joy in my work when I engage individuals who set goals and achieve their career or academic objectives. I am deeply passionate about helping those gain clarity, and navigate their careers to succeed.”
My Story
I stumbled into the profession of career coaching through my graduate school program’s internship component. I had many reservations such as, ‘looking for jobs is boring’ and ‘reviewing resumes can be mundane’ (and they can be!). Low and behold I discovered there is much more beneath the surface of this profession! Most importantly, I was attracted to the coaching and mentoring aspect of this work through building relationships with students, and professionals in various industries.
Shortly after graduating from my counseling program, I accepted my first full job as a career coach for a private institution called Mercy College. I then returned to my alma mater for the M.A. Counseling Program, Montclair State University, as an Admissions Counselor and after a year transitioned to a Career Advisor role. Throughout this time, I engaged in many career and professional development topics through various classroom discussions, workshops and webinars. Such topics included resume and cover letter assistance, networking, interview preparations, and major exploration.
Most recently, I served as a Campus & Early Talent Recruiter for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where I built the internship pipelines and developed programs to ensure interns had a fulfilling experience.
In addition to the positions above, I have experience managing undergraduate and graduate interns, leading search committees, interviewing candidates, and working with various recruiters and employers to create successful student engagement opportunities.
The Why?
I am very passionate about helping others and many individuals throughout my life have gravitated to me for guidance and mentorship. Also, life’s too short to do work we don’t enjoy! I always say, we feel most fulfillment when our interests align with our career and the work we do.
I launched Career Fit Coaching to empower individuals to achieve career goals through developing a sense of purpose and meaning. I also wanted to ensure students have the necessary life skills and tools needed to succeed during their collegiate experience and beyond.
